How Do I Find My Last Day to Cancel?

Use the calendar like a chess board. Put your knight on the check-in day. Move it the way a knight moves: up two rows and left one square. That square is the last day to cancel, by 11:59 p.m. ET. Up two rows is 14 days earlier, and left one is one more day, so it is always 15 days before check-in.

Skip the Counting: Use the Knight Move

Saturday From the Week Before: a knight cannot wrap around the board, so the grey edge holds the Saturday that sits just off the left side.

The Steps

    Cancel 15 days or more before check-in, by 11:59 p.m. ET, and the points go back to the Use Year they came from.

    Cancel 14 days or less before check-in and the points are forfeited.

    Exceptions

    • Booked within 14 days of check-in: cancel within 24 hours of booking and the points come back.
    • Booked on the day of check-in: cancel by 11:59 p.m. ET that day and the points come back.
